Record the shift separately
Employees check in at the start of their shift and check out at the end. This records the attendance window while leaving individual task activity available as a separate part of the day's work.
- See whether a shift is open.
- Keep shift time distinct from time spent on a task.
Start, pause and resume task work
Task controls follow the work itself. Start when the job begins, pause when it stops and resume when ready. Successful completion closes the active task timer alongside the completion record.
- Read the task's status before taking action.
- Complete the required evidence before finishing.
Read location with its context
Cleaner uses foreground location permissions for supported check-ins and location actions. Managers can review the latest available presence update; timestamps help distinguish a recent report from an older one.
- Use location checks where the task requires them.
- Allow for device permission, connectivity and GPS accuracy.
Practical answers
Does Cleaner track employees continuously in the background?
No. The current experience uses foreground location actions and recorded presence updates. It should not be presented as uninterrupted tracking or a live movement history.
Is this a payroll system?
No. Shift and task records support operational oversight. Cleaner does not currently calculate wages, produce payslips or run payroll.
Does a location pin prove that a task is complete?
No. Location is one signal. Completion can also require photos and inventory information; managers should assess the task record and evidence together.
